In this his first book, Tasmanian Aboriginal man Rex Greeno records his fond memories of living on Flinders Island and learning cultural practices from his very special grandfather – Old Dar.
"Dar was a wonderful man, a thorough gentleman, lightly built and wiry, quick on his feet and with his reflexes, and he hardly ever wore shoes. He was so strong in his hands that we did not go to a dentist to extract our first teeth. He could pull them out, if he could catch us! As honest as the day is long, a prouder man would be hard to find, not only of his family, but as an Aboriginal person also."
