This book explores the legend of Musquito, a remarkably brutal warrior resistance leader in two theatres of colonial conflict.

As a child Musquito saw the establishment of the British settlement of Sydney and learned the ways of the colonists. Banished to Norfolk Island as a young man, he was then transferred to Van Diemen's Land, where he played his part in escalating violence between the Indigenous people and European settlers for which he was hung in 1824 at the height of the conflict.
