Fiona Green is a proud pakana woman, whose family hails from tayaritja – Furneaux Islands of Tasmania. She is a direct descendant of mannalargena, bangana of the pairebeena Clan.
Fiona has been lucky enough to be taught the art of kanalaritja (shell necklace) stringing by Aunty maikutena Vicki-Laine Green. The process of passing this significant tradition on to the family is imperative for the continuation of culture. Aunty Vicki has also taught Fiona to weave tirrina (native grass basket) and rikawa (bull kelp basket).
Fiona Green's love and passion for her culture is evident in the quality of her products and teaching others about the rich histories of her people.
